Many of our users create email forwarders in cPanel to forward email to their free email accounts.

For example: you@yourdomain.com.au Forwarded to you@gmail.com

While this is can be convenient, it also causes severe problems for legitimate email delivery. Email forwarders will forward any and all emails to the destination. The free email providers such as Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, outlook etc have aggressive spam filters. When they notice significant amounts of spam being delivered to to them from our servers it causes them to lower our servers mail reputation. The end result is legitimate spam sent from our users to any of these free email providers has a higher chance of being rejected outright or sent to the junk folder.

We have implemented some restrictions on the domains you can set up email forwarders too. The list of providers you cannot create forwarders to is listed below.

  • Hotmail
  • Oz email
  • Outlook - including @outlook.com, @outlook.com.au, @live.com
  • Google - including @gmail.com, @googlemail.com
  • Yahoo - including @yahoo.com, @yahoo.com.au
  • Bigpond - including @bigpond.com, @bigpond.com.au
  • iCloud
  • AOL
  • Zoho
